SSC Stenographer-C 2025 Important Dates
Eligible applicants can apply online for the recruitment of 326 Vacancies for the post of Group-C Stenographer in Various Central Government Services and Cadres. Through the Limite Departmental Competitive Examination 2025 under the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The online application started on 22nd December 2025 on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. The last date for the Application, as per the SSC notification 2025, is 11th January 2026.
● The last date for making online application fee payment is 11th January 2026.
● Applicants are advised to apply before the last date as the server may have some technical issues due to a lot of traffic on the last date of the application.

SSC Stenographer-C 2025 Educational Qualification
Central Secretariat Stenographer Services
● Any regularly appointed Stenographer Grade “D” in the service will be eligible to appear for the examination, provided they have completed at least six (06) years of approved service as a Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service
● Any regularly appointed Stenographer Grade “D” in the service will be eligible to appear for the examination, provided they have completed at least six (06) years of approved service as a Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers’ Service:
● Candidates must have at least three years of approved and continuous service in Service Grade ‘D’.
● Candidates must have at least 2 years of Approved and continuous service in that Grade.
● Stenographers Grade “D” who are on deputation to ex-cadre posts with the approval of the competent authority, and those having a lien in Stenographer Grade “D” of the Service will be eligible to be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible.
Election Commission of India Stenographers’ Service
● Candidates must have at least three years of approved and continuous service in Service Grade ‘D’.
● Candidates must have at least 2 years of Approved and continuous service in that Grade.
●Stenographers Grade “D” who are on deputation to ex-cadre posts with the approval of the competent authority, and those having a lien in Stenographer Grade “D” of the Service will be eligible to be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible.
Indian Foreign Service Branch Stenographer
● Candidates must have completed at least six years of approved service and completed and passed the required training programs.
Central Vigilance Commission
● Candidate must have at least five years of regular service in the post of Stenographer Grade’D’ after appointment in the Commission, as per the crucial/Cut-off date.

How to Apply for SSC Stenographer-C Recruitment 2025
Step 01: Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). https://ssc.gov.in/
Step 02: Click on the link ‘Apply’ It will lead to a new website.
Step 03: If you have not registered before, click on “Register now”, if you have registered yourself before then click on “Login”.
Step 04: After filling the form properly click on “Submit” button. Login ID and Password will be generated and will be send to the registered e-mail ID and mobile number. Please note down the Login ID and Password for future reference.
Step 05: To upload a photo & sign, candidates must login using their Login ID and Password. Check the size of the photo & sign.
Step 06: Next, make the payment using available options. Check the application fee.
Step 07: Please preview the application form and check all the information you have filled/entered before final submit as after submitting the form in this step, the candidate will not be able to edit/modify the application form.
Step 08: After submitting the application in Step 07, candidates are required to take a printout of the application form. Click on “Application printout/reprint”. Check the last date to print the application.
